JSDG - HISTORICAL OVERVIEW

JSDG was born in 2009 as a direct and real response to the anti-semitic and economic warfare of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement (BDS). As staunch Zionists with a dream to be an integral part in writing history, sitting on the sidelines for couple Gedaliah and Elisheva Blum was not an option. The Blum’s mobilized the internet as the most effective hi-tech weapon and created Judea and Samaria’s first business promotion tool using a free website builder. Initially many of the businesses first listed on JSDG were reluctant, fearing that our enemies would turn it against us as a BDS “bomb”. However, JSDG prevailed. Today, 3000 businesses are listed. One major lesson learned; despite a vocal minority of detractors, a quiet majority of people value and appreciate the Jewish people securing, building, and developing every part of the one and the only Jewish state, particularly in the heart of our 4,000-year ancestral heartland of Judea and Samaria. This quiet majority wants to demonstrate their active support through real action.  JSDG embodies this call to action.

The current political reality is difficult for the people of Judea and Samaria. Despite being home to some 10% of the entire Israeli population, it is not considered part of the “State of Israel”, and as such, their future is uncertain. As the prospective application of Israeli law is pending to most of the Jewish communities and the Jordan Valley,  JSDG is a critical tool to enable these communities to integrate in the national economy. This economic integration will help bring Israeli sovereignty closer, faster, and sooner.

Because of global movements such as BDS targeting local businesses, EU legislation penalizes locally produced products, and ongoing UN campaigns promote the delegitimization of the Jewish people’s rights to live and prosper east of the 1967 lines, JSDG’s objective is to grow the customer base of Judea and Samaria so wide that these cynical attacks would be deemed irrelevant.

WE PROMOTE “BUSINESS ZIONISM”

JSDG is not simply promoting businesses, we are promoting modern day pioneers. The people who not only took risks moving into the ‘disputed territory’ of Judea and Samaria, but added to these challenges by opening up a small business. It’s these people, their stories, which are a central focus to our marketing efforts. The objective is to connect the zionist mission of resettling Judea and Samaria with the everyday purchasing behaviors of consumers.

From a technical standpoint, JSDG utilizes leading online marketing technologies to identify browsers, collect data, and retarget them with user specific messaging, ensuring that the right browser is led to the specific business they seek. The efficiency and success of this type of marketing enables JSDG to get more results with less spend.

Additional marketing strategies utilize SEO, social media, Google ads as well as email marketing. It is estimated that JSDG will be able to reach over 200k consumers per month within 36 months.
